Impenetrable

Your silence says it all,

it wasn’t what I wanted to hear.

I won’t keep waiting for your call,

when you make it crystal clear.

The rejection hurt like hell,

I can still feel the sting.

I loved you, I really fell,

now there’s no hope eternal to spring.

My broken heart must forgive you,

your love was never mine to claim.

The only thing left to do,

is retreat to my lonely domain.

Are you content with the road you chose?

Down it, no happiness goes.

Someone tried to storm your keep,

but you wouldn’t surrender, you dug in too deep.

Your impenetrable walls held off my onslaught,

no matter how valiant a battle I fought.

    1. Thanks Linda,
That was my last entry for the writing group. I guess I was my swan song. I have not been able to write anything since. I have nothing. I hope I am not done and I can get my creative mojo back.
