And Then It Hit Me

And then it hit me,

a touch and a look in your eyes.

A spark lit me,

I longed for hello’s, dreaded goodbyes                                                                 spark

goodbye     touch

And I was overtaken,                                  love

it happened out of the blue.

I felt an aching,

and then it hit me, it was you.

Could have been a lightning bolt,

struck down and shook me.

My senses woke to the jolt,

that’s when you took me.                                  th

A locomotive bearing down the tracks,

coming straight toward me.

I was stirred by the climax,                                                    ecstasy

and it hit me, the ecstasy.

Take my hand, take it all,

I would risk any pain,

I would take the fall,

I would ride that train.

If you knocked at my door,                                         door

I would let you in

And it hit me like never before, open door

my heart was free, my heart was open.

    1. Hi Apera,
Sorry for the late response. I appreciate your comment and am so happy that you liked and were moved by this piece. I am not sure about adding more to it, sometimes you can go on too long with trying to express what you want. This particular piece, I wrote spontaneously. It just came out as it was. That does not happen often to me when I write. If I think about a piece too long, sometimes I lose the flow. I am really still learning as I go along. Thanks again, it’s nice to meet you. I appreciate any feedback.
